Being a TA?

I was wondering if there was a limit to how many classes you can TA? I want to TA two courses that are both in the same department, but one of them does it for 4 credits and the other does it for 5. Is this possible or is there a limit to how many credits you can earn in one semester if they're both in the same department? I ask because there are two classes I really like, but they are offered in the same semester and in the same department. Thanks!

Are you an undergrad? How do you become a TA to begin with?

@sweetxjules- I don’t believe there is a limit. I personally TA’d 3 classes last semester, and TA’ing 2 right now. I’m not sure how many you can get credit for in the same department, but you can take it for pay as opposed to credit if they don’t allow for credit.

There are some undergrads that do TA classes, usually ones that have excelled in the class and have past experience with some kind of relevant teaching experience. Try reaching out to professors.

My kid was a TA for one class senior year. The second semester she was promoted to be the coordinator (or head TA) for the course. I believe the professor approached her and it was for pay.
