Being an RA

I know friends that have done it, and have been able to cut tuition costs by getting a chunk/half, sometimes full room & board taken care of by being an on-duty RA. Has anyone been an RA before, or could attest to this? (<a href="http://tinyurl.com/chvs32a">http://tinyurl.com/chvs32a</a>)</p>

More important is how the policy works at your given schools. They vary on how RAs are selected, how they are compensated and/or what perks they get as well as the responsibilities.

I am sure each school varies as to how they compensate their RA’s. S is an RA and he is paid a salary that is just about what it costs for room and board.

Majority of schools offer a modest stipend each month, and room and board is covered.

As cpt says, you need to find out the information from your own school.

D1 was compensated with full room and partial board, but it wasn’t taxable which helped. YMMV.
