Being charged for meal plan already?

Hi,

Are any other newly admitted students being charged for meal plans already?

This is what I see in my BruinBill:
Post Date Description Due Date Charge
05/06/2016 OCH-FinAid 19 MP 16/17 to 9/20 05/26/2016 $104.30 (already paid)
06/24/2016 OCH-FinAid 19 MP 16/17 to 9/22 07/01/2016 $104.30 (new charges)

Since I’m not on campus yet, it seems strange that I have to pay for a meal plan now.

Is this normal?

Yes. I’m a parent, I can’t remember why but I think it has to do with housing and meal planning budgets?

You are currently paying for housing.
OCH = On Campus Housing
OCH comes with one of the meal plans. The meal plan is included in the charges.
