Being completely realistic here..

I improved from a 169 psat score to currently a 1980 sat score. I am aiming for a 2100. Trying is what counts1

to everyone here...almost everything is possible. You just got to sit down and work. work work work and more work. i have proved this myself. my advice to those of you trying to get your scores up from around the 1900 area is to practice your timing. Never do a practice section with more time than alloted on the real SAT.
by doing this you will get used to the time and it will make you feel more comfortable with the test. I think more comfort=better score to a certain point. and keep in mind doing really well can be partially luck...getting interesting passages will make you focus better. to get a 2100 its only getting 6-8 wrong in CR 3ish in Math and not many in writting. So comfort at that point is pretty nessecary

I always tell people this when they feel like they can't improve their SAT score. I did horrible on the PSAT. I got a 158 when I was a sophomore and a 168 when I was a junior. I started freaking out because I thought I would never be able to raise it and apply to the schools I wanted to apply to. But I decided to study and see if I could improve it anyway. I didn't see an astronomical increase, but I got a 1940 on the SAT in May and that's definately an improvement from a 168. I've been studying a lot lately and breaking 2000 on practice tests. So pretty much anything is possible.
