The thing is, unless you make a EXCEPTIONAL impression...your rep won't remember you, and why bother with the interviewer...because you will not know who will be interviewing you until...after you've sent in your application.

I want to make an EXCEPTIONAL impression. Does anyone know how to get started?

i don't know, it might seem blatantly obvious what you're doing. I doubt it would help.

If you're good enough to make an EXCEPTIONAL impression you probably don't need to be worrying about this :P

well when the regional rep for my area came to visit my school she gave a presentation. However, i was the only one there for the presentation so since I knew practically everything there was to know about penn i just chatted with her for over an hour. Then I applied early and in when i was accepted in december with my admissions letter came a personal note from her saying congrats and that she hopped my knee felt better because when i met her earlier in the year i had just had knee surgery.

wow, bern. cool.

I met my adcom when he came to my school. He talked to like 20 kids though. Anyway, I went to a later meeting at Penn and he stopped me to talk to me because he recognized me and we chatted for 20-30 minutes about sports. And then he accepted me. Thanks, Kirk!

does that really work?
holy crap...someone tell me these things lol!

well if you are looking to suck up then no it's not going to work. It will look fake. If you actually have a personality and have a genuine conversation with the adcom (not one to just get bonus points) then you might make a memorable impression on the adcom which might help in admissions if you have the stats.

wow i cant believe people are stooping so low as to suck up the adcom like that. why dont you just send them brownies...

I know... if I were an adcom like that and someone was trying to be friendly in hopes that I would like them for admissions purposes... I'd be very offended.

They are the people who read your apps, so I'm sure that if when they come to your school if they can remember your name when they read your app it will be a plus.

i live in missouri, so nothing comes here haha
