So I recently visited BC’s campus and learned more about the school and I absolutely fell in love. I plan on majoring in English and BC would be a good fit in all aspects with possibly one exception. I’ve read online that BC isn’t extremely accepting of the LGBT community and there isn’t much of a strong or active community there? I’d like to know if this is true since I really do like everything else it has to offer.
I would definitely say there’s a presence. I’m a junior and know a number of LGBTQ people on campus. They do call out for some better recognition, and have been slowly making strides in that area. I wouldn’t say it’s great or particularly more substantial than other schools, but there’s a presence. In recent weeks since the election, there has definitely been a stirring for reform.
I’m probably not the best to comment on this, so I thought I’d at least give my $.02 and bump you back to the newest, to get a better chance of a more in-depth response.
