I signed up for my classes at Calso and only now realized the difficulty of my schedule time wise. M-W-F I have chem 1a lecture from 9-10, classics 010a lecture from 10-11 (which i plan to sign up for phase II, and math 16a lecture from 11-12. Tuesdays I have molecular & cell biology 32 lecture from 9:30-11 and math 16a discussion from 11-12:30. So my question is do professors care about tardiness as much as high school teachers? And if so will I be saved by "Berkeley Time" or should i try to rearrange classes?

No one cares. You don’t even have to come to class!

You should get a late-pass from your previous class and show it to the next class.

Just kidding. No one gives a crap.

As long as you are quiet about it (and decide to sit in the back as opposed to drawing attention to yourself by walking to the front), most professors don’t care at all (this is especially true of large lecture sections). I’ve been to lecture nearly an hour late without explaining myself.

Some professors, especially those in small courses, may check attendance. Also, some GSI may check attendance. But it’s definitely not as strict as in high school.

Awesome!!!

Just make sure with your professors/Graduate student instructors though (who teach labs/supplemental discussion sections). I would say 90% of professors don’t care, but just make sure if you happen to be taught by that 10%.

I hate those people that come late to lecture and then want to climb over everyone to get to a seat.

Screw them.

maybe you should just fill in the rows so they don’t have to climb over you…

@Upmagic: The best part about getting late passes … well… not giving a damn about how ****ed the teacher would be once you arrive late.

no one in college gives a F about anything.
