I'm aware that most colleges/universities have food choices so their vegan students don't starve, but I'd like to know if anyone has experience with vegetarian/vegan food at Stanford, Caltech, MIT, Brown, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, University of Chicago, UC Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon. Thanks.

Oh, and any tips?

dont be a pussy...eat meat

I know cornell and Stanford have decent vegan options. Cal has the co-ops and one of them is an all veggie house. I don't know about any of the other ones, but I highly recommend searching out places with co-ops as those tend to be fairly veggie-friendly

haha, I'm sure you'll have better luck with schools like that. I'm going to a small LAC, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be living on salad and bread....

^^TVA-- You'll have to check out this place in downtown K-Zoo:
People’s Food Co-op: http://peoplesfoodco-op.org/index.php
Have heard it's a Vegan’s paradise for organic and natural foods. Student discounts on Sundays and student memberships also available.

One more thing, VeganActress...You might want to ask about the Crissey Hall Vegetarian Co-op since I believe those dorm residents aren't required to carry a meal plan.

I did hear about that, but I don't think it's an option for freshman... thanks for the link though!

I go to Berkeley and the dining commons/cafes all around campus make it a priority to cater to vegans/vegetarians. At the dining commons there are always hot vegan entrees in addition to the organic salad bar, a sandwich bar which offers falafels, hummus, and vegan cheese as well as vegan pizza.

Yay hummus! Thanks a lot!
