I'm interested in Beloit, but have been hearing negative comments about the student body--that they're all tatooed, pierced, etc and not very polished/well-kept. I know that these are exaggerations and are not to be entirely believed, but could anyone give an honest description of the people at Beloit? As compared to other schools?

I’m currently a first-year at Beloit. While there are definitely people at Beloit who fit your description, the student body has people all across the fashion spectrum. Beloit has lots of diversity, which I appreciate. There are so many different people to learn and grow from. I don’t think I can really compare the appearance of Beloit students to those at other colleges…I mean, I just see people. Of course, some people aren’t exactly my cup of tea aesthetically, but you’ll find that anywhere.

There is more to Beloit than what the students look like. Your title has “reputations” in it and you just mention physical description. More goes into reputation than just appearances. I’m not sure if neglecting personality and such was a mistake, but know regardless that college really isn’t about things on the surface level, like appearances and rank. Once you get somewhere, those things don’t matter nearly as much as enjoying the people around you – whether they’re tattooed or have a great love for Burberry (or perhaps both).

So I encourage you to visit and see for yourself. Beloit is really hard to describe – it’s something you have to experience. Holla if you need anything or have any questions.
