At my school most take between 9 and 12 hours per semester.
It's said that you're okay as long as you take the norm at your school. But the AMCAS GPA calculator only seems to treat 15 as full-time, regardless of what the norm at your school is. Since my school is in a quarter system, the AMCAS calculator even treats credit hours here as being worth less than in semester system, so the total hours I took in freshman's fall, spring, and summer come out to be less than 30.
I've been taking less than 15 from freshman to fall semester of soph and I had absolutely no idea that this was bad, and starting this semester I'm taking at least 15. I'm confused. Am I doomed?

Someone said that adcoms view taking below 15 credit hours as a serious deficiency but I could've done just fine with 15 or more. It's not that I didn't take 15 in freshman and fall of soph because I couldn't handle it. It's just because most people took less than 15 at my school so I thought it was norma and I wanted to have more free time. At the time no one at school even said 15 was bad so I thought there was nothing wrong with it. :( Am I done for top med schools, even if I start taking 15 or more from now on?

I'm told that I'll be fine if I graduate on time, in 4 years. :) I just did some calculation and I'll definitely be able to graduate in 4 years if I start taking at least 15 credits from now on.
