Benefit or Harm by Voluntarily Submitting 1st Quarter Grades

Evening guys and gals,

I’ve completed my early decision application and I am incredibly excited/anxious for a shot at Penn. That being said, here is my situation. I am applying to Wharton ED and I took the Math 2 subject test this month. I will receive that scores in two days (fingers crossed). I am fortunate to have 800s in both US and World History, but I do not feel that great about Math 2 as I skipped a good many, etc. Couple that with the fact that my calculus teacher, who I adore, is writing one of my recommendations. I am fortunate in the fact that I am nearly acing his calculus class at the moment, so I thought I would have my guidance counselor voluntarily send my 1st quarter grades to Penn on my behalf. My hope is that this will strengthen my application potentially and act as a counter weight against a less than spectacular Math 2 score.

Is this wise? Will it even matter in the scheme of things? Is this a smart way to provide greater clarity in my application and perhaps makeup for any potentially lost ground in terms of my Math 2 score?

Thanks in advance guys!

Exact same question but unfortunately in the opposite boat :frowning:

@IvyWin Opposite in terms of your school forcing you to send your 1st quarter grades regardless of whether or not the ED school requires it? I go to a public school and I think I may be the first kid to ever apply ED anywhere so they don’t have much of a policy!

@alfred500 hahaha opposite as in my first quarter grades aren’t that good! I’m still requesting to send grades cuz thats kidna the norm at my school but i’ve heard from some that they aren’t really factored into the decision for ED.
