My school has a policy of only sending first quarter grades only when they help applicants, and to my knowledge every other kid applying to Brown had a rough first quarter, too.

My guidance counselor said basically the same thing. . .that he won't send it unless they call him and ask for it. I guess it wouldn't be fair to make applicants who have a quarter system release their grades, while high schools on the trimester system, or international students, can get out of this requirement.

I'm an intl, and my school can't report first quarter grades. we don't have anz. I've asked my GC to write that on my school transcript, but wasn't sure if they'll accept that. meaning: is it ok if I don't send any?

I know we just send the current transcript. Transcripts at my school only listed grade performance on completed courses. The mid-year grade report at the half-way mark of the year was then sent, as per schools request, that added the grades for the first half. We never sent first quater grades alone, and it didn't hurt me.
