Bennington College

I posted a thread on this somewhere else, but since I didn't receive any response....

Does anyone know anything about Bennington College?
How are the professors (are there any classes taught by TAs?)?
How are the science (bio, biochem, chem) and psychology departments?
How is the student life?

etc. etc.

[All responses are appreciated.]

Its small. I think there are about 800 students. The students are pretty arty and wild, and I know there are a lot of parties. If you want to get a taste of its scene, watch or read Rules of Attraction by Bret Ellis or read The Fortress of Solitude by Jonathan Lethem, both of which have schools loosely based on Bennington.

My cousin graduated from Bennington, if you'd like I could ask her?!

A girl from my school went there and had to leave cuz she was doing way too much coke. It's all crazy hippies. I heard that clothes were optional there...

thanks:
litltebeach3- yea. it would be great if you could!

"I heard that clothes were optional there..."
raises eyebrow that's interesting....

A faculty member from there once told me that the students are rather well-off, somewhat spoiled, but also striving to be individualistic and creative and that somtimes their privileged and self-indulgent backgrounds get in the way of the real effort and originality that true creativity demands.

I would not go there for bio or chem but maybe theater or dance would be OK.

If Bennington attracts you, you might consider Bard, which has a stronger academic reputation.
