Bentley vs. GWU

Where would you go to study undergraduate business, and why? No merit aid at either. Want to be able to play intramural sports. Like both schools even though they are very different. Would appreciate peoples’ thoughts about this.

Both programs have similar outstanding business programs. While GWU is located inside he city, Bentley is located about twenty minutes car ride from Boston. Also, GWU’s student population is a lot larger than Bentley’s. I guess it depends on the location you want to be in - Boston or Washington D.C?

My son attended Bentley for grad school. We also live in the Washington DC area and am familiar with GW.

They are two very different schools. Bentley is MUCH smaller than GW and usually has smaller , more intimate classes. Bentley has a gorgeous campus in Walthem Mass. GW is a city school without much of a campus feel in Washington DC. Both are in great areas for a student to be in.

Frankly, I think Bentley gets the edge for most business subjects. They have great facilities , especially with the advent of their trading room and acelab, which has a lot of accounting software. Moreover, absent scholarhips, GW is more expensive than Bentley.

GW’s tution is $42,860 vs. Bentley’s $35,580,which is considerable. However, GW does have one interesting wrinkle: there will be no tuition increases for the four years that you are there as long as you maintain your full time status.

Bottom line: Academically, I like both schools and don’t think you will go wrong attending either one. I would check them out, however, due to their very different cultures and having a very different feel.

@taxguy wow, I thought you were the Baruch advocate? You would go on and on how it is crazy to spend big bucks on a school and your son went to Bentley? Wow. I know Bentley is a very good school, but it is not better than Baruch? Not a big deal, just very surprised
