<p>You don’t need WS to get job experience. My kids don’t have WS, but they’ve always worked during the school year and during the summer. You can get a job this summer and/or one during the school year.</p>

<p>You can earn about $5k per year outside of work-study and it won’t hurt your EFC.

You CAN get job experience by working in a job that is NOT work study…but you probably know that too.

<p>Oh I see. I’ll try to look for a job. It is just that most of the cool jobs that I’m interested in like working in the NMR, MS, IR, etc. labs are all taken by WS students and these jobs give priority to WS students.
But I guess some job is better than no job though, so I’ll look for a job anyways.</p>

<p>EDIT: Also I agree with Kender about asking for FA is not cheating the system since you deserve the money.</p>
