Berkeley and Language

What does Berkeley and all the other nameless UCs tech institute think about language courses? The only language course I have taken these two years in high school is Chinese 3-4 in freshman year, which is equivalent to two years of Chinese.

I could've continued taking Chinese 5-6 and Chinese Honors but I sacrificed the class spots for math and science classes because these were the primary subjects I found riveting.

So will Berkeley be too harsh in terms of admissions if I took only one year of language in high school (which is equivalent to two years and thus fulfills the requirement)?

Also... Is there a reason why Berkeley is now ranked #39?

Well, if you’re applying for a science based major, I doubt they’ll care since you have proven that you’ve met the requirement.

For the rankings thing, I’m sure it’s because the “dollar per student ratio” has dropped. In my personal opinion, rankings really don’t mean much when entire universities are scaled against one another. To draw a comparison, it’s like saying the Lakers are a better sports team than the Green Bay Packers.

^^^ the lakers ARE a better sports team than the green bay packers.

^ lol. 10 char
