I'm out of state and want to apply for Bio as my major.</p>
<p>Yes, the GPA is a bit low, but I live in CA and the competition is more fierce for UCB. But I think students have at least 3.75 GPA for UCB. There is certainly rigor in your schedule and being out-of-state will help, UCB is taking only 13% Californians because they want the extra money from internationals and out-of-state students. Just apply and see.</p>
<p>13% acceptance rate for Californians may simply mean that geography doesn’t make a difference anymore… it doesn’t help to be OOS/international but it doesn’t hurt either.</p>
<p>What does help, regardless of where you live or where you go to school, is how much financial aid you need.</p>
