berkeley extension / English 101

Hi Everyone

I go to USC but I’m interested in taking some courses over the summer through UC Berkeley extension. Basically, I want to get some credits during the summer but I actually want to do some travel and such, which I can’t really do if I take summer courses at 'SC (since there’s basically only 1-2 weeks from the end of spring to start of summer, then from end of summer to start of fall) So:

Anyone have experience with UC Berkeley extension? Is it reasonable to do 4 semester units in about a 2 to 2.5 month period of time?

Speaking of semester units, is Berkeley on a semester system? I know UCLA and UCSD are on quarter…but the thing says 4 semester units…

Finally anyone taken or even ever heard of this course, history of the english language? Easy? Hard? Worthwhile? Waste of time?

Thanks!

The History of the English Language. (4) Three hours of lecture per week. The history of the English language from its Indo-European roots, through its Old, Middle, and Early Modern periods, as preserved in the literary heritage, to its different forms in use throughout the world today.

Berkeley is on the semester system. 4 units in 2-2.5 months seems doable to me. Many students will take about 8 or so in the summer if that's any indication.
