My S was accepted to all three schools for Mechanical Engineering and he just got back from spending 3 days and nights at UC Berkeley. Although he had a great experience, both on and off the Berkeley campus, he still can not make a decision. He did not do an overnight at either Michigan or USC but he really likes the school spirit at both schools and thought the school spirit may have been lacking somewhat at Berkeley. We are CA residents so Berkeley is more affordable than the other two schools. We can afford to send him to any of these schools but obviously if I can save some money I'd like to do so-- but not at the expense of an inferior fit. He did get a small amount of merit-based aid at Berkeley, Michigan didn't offer any merit money, and we are waiting to see what kind of FA package USC offers because they just asked for some additional info that delayed things slightly. USC is probably running a close third right now, mostly due to their Engineering ranking compared to the other two schools.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these 3 schools and/or suggestions on how I can get my son to decide on which school he should attend?
