Berkeley Options

So I got into Davis, LA, and SD, but rejected from Berkeley. I know I can do fine where ever I go and it’s all about how I can make the most of the opportunities given to me, but Berkeley felt like home the moment I stepped foot on the campus. I have to leave community college so I am wondering about 2 things:

-Should I appeal? I heard some say it’s not worth it but if anything helps I’d be willing to try.

-I know that UC-to-UC transfer is possible. But if I transfer to let’s say Davis, would Berkeley take into account that I’ve only been there for a year? I don’t want to come off as someone going after the name, but because I truly feel like I managed to find the best fit school possible for me as a person.

What should I do?

You are welcome to appeal, but there is no guarantee it will change anything.

It is unlikely that going to a UC for a year will keep you eligible to transfer again. You will max out the unit cap.

You can also do another year at CC and apply again. You can call and find out why you were rejected and try to fix it in the next round.

@luckie1367 You can call and find out why you were rejected? Who do you call?

I think its just the admissions office… but be polite of course!!!

@luckie1367 You can ask? I thought Berkeley doesn’t disclose reasons for rejection?

As a UC-UC transfer, I think you shouldn’t go into a UC with the intent of transferring out. Community college gets precedence in most schools (esp. Berkeley) so do yourself a favor and just stick to the CC route if you must go to Berkeley.
