I just found out I got it today and I was pretty damn happy.

=)

So who else got the good news?

yay i got it too
how hard is it to retain 3.0 gpa in the EECS major =(

depends...and if you do drop below, you get a semester to bring it back up...

Congrats to those who got Regents'! If anyone has any questions or will be coming to OHP for Cal Day, feel free to PM me. =)

i got regents too i was totally stoked lol

regents and chancellors scholarship here too. funny how they never told me about this regents deal in febuary.

same here.
its the one positiive thing after i got my decisions from the other schools.

I got it too! yeppee!

Are you all gonna attend UCB for sure?

cuz i sure am.

Yay, I got Regents EECS!

did anyone here get it after you interviewed in march? or did it come as a total surprise?

I interviewed in March and received notification of getting it today! YAY.

So, what are the real perks besides the obvious financial gift?
Keeping a 3.0 at Haas = impossible? Thanks!

real perks = networking opportunities and faculty sponsor for internships/letters of rec, ect.

and yeah i interviewed for it as well!

got regents here too!

Me too. (10 char)

Well, one of the perks that I can tell you has become very obviously lately concerns housing choices. All of my friends and floormates were applying for mini-suites this year (these being a step up from the standard double room with a floor bathroom). The only ones of us that have gotten them have been us Regents' scholars...it's really nice to know that I can chose what I want dorm-wise.

Also there is the Regents' and Chancellor's Scholars' Association that you are automatically a member of, which gives you the perks Break mentioned. I've had dinner with a former Boalt Law School Admissions Dean (which was awesome since I'm pre-Law), a Poli Sci Professor, a Bio professor who teaches one of the intro courses, and a Econ professor who had been a Regents' scholar at Berk before going to Princeton for her grad work.

I'm part of the social committee so I coordinate random trips and stuff for fun (not everything is about school!). If you do come to Berk, make sure you check out some of our activities Welcome Week. =)

Got it....

Where on the application status page do you look to find out if you have won it?

Non regents get mini-suites, too, geminihop.

DRab does have a point, others certainly got mini-suites without much hassle who were non-Regents' and I definitely do not have data on all the housing offers extended, but it was nice to have a little extra help in the lottery =) .

Does anyone actually know how the system works for lottery and Regents?
