I just need someone to clarify this for me.
I'm a novice, a.k.a a senior in high school.

First of all, I don't understand what I'm suppose to do. I'll clarify in a bit.

I want to do do the Berkeley TAP at De Anza, but I do not know how/where to sign up. So far, I went to the Open House at De Anza, but I was not given info there. If you're wondering why I hadn't call De Anza, it's because I'm sort of busy during this time of the year, and because it's really hard to call them. Did I mention I never got my test results? That's how bad it is. I'm not complaining, I'm just giving you one piece of info.

As for my classes, I'm a little confused.
Is TAP additional classes I need to take along with IGETC and my assist? <--- This is the main part.

Unfortunate, De Anza does not offer TAP (called TAG here at De Anza) for UCLA or UCB. You only need to fill out your Major Preqs. IGETC does not apply to UCB, as they have their own GE system which you must complete. If you want, you can post any other questions here and i will try to best my best to point you in the right direction.

With TAG, basically this is how it works:
(1) Enroll in CC
(2) Figure out what school you want to transfer to
(3) Find the TAG agreement and figure out what classes you have to take in order to meet requirements
(4) Take them
(5) After completing X number of units (general it’s 30-45) sign TAG agreement to go to that school
(6) If your TAG is approved, great, finish all the classes you need and then apply to that school stating that you have a TAG agreement. Assuming you meet all the conditions, you should be admitted.

Most people I know who did TAG ended up canceling. I wouldn’t recommend doing TAG unless you’re really unsure about your own ability and want to have that to fall back on. (Unless Cal/UCLA really is offering TAP, then I highly recommend it).

I think Berkeley TAP is invite only, its quite different from UCLA’s TAP program. I’m pretty sure its for low income/first generation college students with high GPA (3.8+). I remember I received a letter regarding Berkeley’s TAP Program inviting me to come talk with the Berkeley rep at Foothill but I didn’t follow up on it (I go to Foothill btw).

What? Yeah, you would. There are quite a few that overlap if you compare them side by side. If there are not any (which I highly doubt), then you would either need to do both, or pick which school you would REALLY want to go to and put all your eggs in one basket. Alternatively, you could find another school which does have similar preqs and TAG there instead.

as previously mentioned, TAP for Berkeley is invite only, and it is targeted towards students who are: first-generation, minority, or low income.
