Berkeley Transfers High School Transcripts

Hey all,

I have an issue. I had an admission officer assigned to me who told me I did not need my high school transcripts for anything important, and not to worry about sending them if it was an issue. I was now assigned a different officer who is telling me that they are not needed for admissions, but if I receive any financial aid then they are needed.

My financial aid requested a bunch of documents from me to verify independence, marital status, and that I was a parent, but did not request any transcripts. I have two weeks until the deadline, and it would be extremely difficult to get these transcripts. I have my G.E.D. Certificate, but that is it.

Does anyone know if these transcripts are really needed for financial aid or is my admissions officer misinformed?

I read that either your official high school transcript, GED, or Proficiency Examination documents with the date of graduation were required. I didn’t read anything about them required for FA but I guess it varies.

If you have a GED Certificate, wouldn’t that cover it? I would give them a call because sometimes that would explain things more than an email.
