I am a history/psychology double major, applying as a history major. I can't find any info as to the statistics/median GPA for admitted transfer students to Cal as I have been able to find with UCLA.

Does anyone have any input as to what GPA (and please avoid the smart-aleck remarks) is needed to be offered admission, both cumulative and major?

And what other factors play into the decision?

Since Berkeley admits students by division (within CLAS)you will not find a average admit GPA for a history major. However the average admit GPA for the social science division where history is located is around 3.8. You most likely will not find this information on the internet I got my information from a Berkeley representative.

yah UCLA has acceptance rate/GPA for each major... Cal doesn't show the avg. GPA but i know that history/psy are in social science division which is 25% admit rate... that's the only info...
Cal's social science is definately impacted and I am applying for social science department also...

Hello I am so glad that I was able to find this site. I am also applying to UCLA and Berkeley, but as a humanities major, English specifically. I have all A's and one C which I received this semester in my statistics course. How much do you think this will hurt my chances for admission to these schools? I will have the 60 units and have completed all major pre-requisites for both schools. I am very worried. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. As my GPA stands it is 3.84.
