Berkeley Womyn in Science and Engineering Theme Program (WiSE) How do they accept students?

I am interested in applying for this program, but really know nothing about when to apply and how selective it is. Does anyone know how students are selected? Do they give preference for students in the college of engineering, or do they weigh applicants from the college of letters and sciences just as much?

Does not seem to see how selective it is, although since it is housed in a section of a dorm, they could theoretically increase or decrease the number of students (within reason) based on interest.

How to apply

Any female-identified student who holds a strong interest in science, technology, engineering, and math is encouraged to apply. You must complete the UC Berkeley housing application by the deadline. On the online application Theme Program page, select WiSE from the drop-down menu. You’ll also be asked to write a short essay. The housing contract you receive will indicate if you have been selected to the Theme Program.
