Have a friend who seems to be a pretty smart guy. He’s about to graduate with a Bachelors in Operations and Supply Chain Management summa cum laude at a public university and was offered a nice financial aid package to pursue his MBA(or an Engineering Masters in Logistics) for pretty much free. Problem is he wants to work in music in some way and the only music degrees at his college have to do with performance.
He plays guitar and keyboard and is pretty good. He said he could see a future in business supporting artists in some fashion. Maybe Tour Management or similar (use supply chain/engineering background). He’s started applying for internships already.
He asked me about the Artist Management certification Berklee offers. Knowing nothing about it I searched… and still came up with not a whole lot.
Anyone know if their Artist Management/Music Business certification programs paired with legitimate degrees mean anything. I figure it would look good as “professional development” and MAYBE show you have interest/background. On its own I’m guessing it aint worth much.
