Best 0-6 pharmacy programs?

I've applied for the 0-6 year PHARM. D programs at:

USP (university of the sciences in philadelphia)ACCEPTED
St. Johns in queens
Northeastern APPLIED EA, DEFERRED TO REGULAR
URI (University of Rhode Island) ACCEPTED
MCPHS (massachusetts college of pharmacy and applied health sciences)

out of these 5 programs which would you consider to be the best , and state your reasons why?

I really don't know which I'll choose to attend! I'm friendly and I feel like I would fit in anywhere. I like USP,ST. Johns, NEU , MCPHS because they are in urban city areas, when I have been stuck in the country for 18 years!

URI & NEU seem like more well rounded universities though, just incase the pharmacy plan doesn't pan out accordingly.

PLEASE HELP

Where would you choose to go ? and why?
I really want feedback. Thanks.

please help ? anyone know anything about these schools?

This is a very personal decision, but I’d probably push my kid to either URI or St. John’s, if my kid had a pharmacy guaranteed admission at either school. NE is a maybe, but it would be in the top two if cost were no object.

I’d suggest you look at the school reviews at some of the review websites (not allowed to post them here) for USP and MCPHS. There are postings about students who find that they struggle with their workloads and the required courseload at these two schools. Students have also complained about their limited college experiences. There appear to be extremely high rates of attrition from the programs at both schools. A pharmacy guarantee isn’t worth much if the students can’t get through the programs. If it’s necessary to change majors, it would be desirable to have more options without having to transfer.

As between St. J and URI, I’d probably prefer St. J for the location. When it’s time to do rotations and clinicals, IMO it’s a plus to be able to get to hospitals and pharmacies without needing a car. I wasn’t crazy about URI’s School of Pharmacy’s facilities when we visited a few years ago. I don’t know if they’ve updated anything since, but it didn’t seem to have as many laboratory resources as some of the other pharmacy schools we visited. The students who attended the school did say that they liked URI though.

For all of the schools, I’d look closely at the first two years of the prereqs. If you’re unhappy at your school, you could keep open your option of applying a traditional route to a 2+4 program if you can meet prereqs of other schools. My kid did take the PCAT and applied to a few other schools at the end of his first two years (he did well on the PCAT and got invited for interviews). He ultimately decided not to accept the interviews and to stay in his own school, but it was nice to have options.

These are just opinions, though. You really need to visit all of them and see which is the best fit. (Some of the college review sites have lots of negatives about schools, but it’s hard to tell whether only the kids who hate the schools bother to write.)

thanks so much. just got accepted to ST J’s

ANY OTHER OPINIONS ?

Hi, I am sorry but I do not have an answer to yuor question.

But, maybe you can answer mine! HOW THE F DID U GET ACCEPTED TO ALL THESE SCHOOLS, I AM CURRENTLY A JUNIR WITH A 3.85ISH GPA AND PSAT OF 185 WHICH MEANS 28 ON THE ACT OR 1850 ON THE SAT BUT I THINK I CAN BUMB THAT UP LOl

but what was ur stats, what did u do, plz give me some tips! thansk and good luck on making u decsion!

My name is Abraham and I am a junior in a private, Jewish high school in L.A. I am very interested in the programs, diversity, and beautiful campus that 0-6 pharmacy programs has to offer I am so INTERESTED IN PHARMACY!. I am a 1st generation American/ Persian, so my English is not that great but I am getting better quite rapidly. But, I have recently been stressing over the fact of applying to these programs or not (For Fall of 2013). The reason for that is because my high school does not emphasize on the strength of their academics and clubs etc. I have been in the highest level classes we can be in since the 10th grade.[Our school actually has the UC school requirements, but we have to go to school during the summer too, if we want to get the a-g courses.] In fact, I am taking calculus right now. But, the problem is that our school does not offer any AP classes. And since we start school at 7:30 AM and end on average at 9:30 PM, 6 days a week (excluding Friday’s due to religious observance) it is very hard for me to reach higher levels of secular studies. I am currently self-studying for the AP English Language and psychology exam. And I know I will do well because when I have a goal, I achieve it. But what worries me is: I don’t know if I am heading on the right track. We have no school counselor to help for this stuff! Also, my parents are very busy since we have a family of 8, so they do not really have time for this, so I have to take care of myself and my 4 younger siblings. I have also tried to make school clubs/groups; however, my school does not allow it. I even got a petition from many kids in my school that they wanted one of these groups, but no matter how many times i tried my school turned me down. Still, I have gone out of way to help my community and temple (volunteering), fundraising, setting up, tutoring, recycling, etc. Also, I took a practice ACT test and got something like a 28-29, but I am sure I can bump it up to over 30. Also, I forgot to mention I am planning on also self-studying AP Biology, Chemistry, and probably Calculus in my senior year (We are going to end at average 10:15 a night, so it will be pretty hard, but manageable). And if it helps I understand 3 languages, almost 4.

So I was wondering can you please help me.

What can I do to improve my application?

What should I be doing in my summer/ free time etc. (I mean, when I am not in summer school or studying)?

What should I do about the Clubs, and AP’s?

Please tell me of anything you think that can help me; I am forever grateful!

Thanks, Abraham.
