Can anyone suggest what are the best prep books for ACT?
I have already finished the Real Prep Guide and PR Cracking the ACT, but I still want to further enhance my skills.
I appreciate any suggestions.

Barron’s ACT 36.

Real ACT obviously is great (there are two versions too, hard to find the older one I guess, but my sis had it), I also think 1296 Questions did a really solid job, I also think for tips and stuff (non-practice test) that Kaplans was OK or ACT Black book, which is hard to find, but had like a cult following at my high school. I used it for Science and it def helped me out a lot.

The only book I used the Real ACT Prep book and I ended up with only a 34. I wasn’t expecting much because I’ve only completed one practice test in the book and didn’t get a stellar score. ACT, in my opinion, is much easier than SAT (although my scores indicate otherwise :P). ACT is all about time (at least for me). You need to learn how to manage your time and solve all the problems correctly…the one section that I didn’t get a 36 on was Science; for some reason I felt really rushed in that section during the test. I was reading all the unnecessary details (which I found out near the end half that you really don’t need to read if you can understand basic graphs).

Instead of going through bunch of prep books, I suggest you limit yourself to less time than actually allotted and see how you do and practice that way so you can have your breathing space to soothe anxiety during the real test.

If you have anxiety issues on tests, just go in and pretend it doesn’t even matter or have fun. ACT is definitely more fun than SAT (less exhausting!)
