<p>Hello, I'm a international student in Canada. I am curious which schools have the best biology programs in the USA? I am planning on being a doctor, and I want to go to a university with a strong undergraduate program in biology. Also, I am curious, do they look at your class rank by your cumulative GPA throughout your 4 years of high school, or do you have 4 seperate class ranks for each year of high school?</p>

<p>Completely agreed with huskem. Basically top schools should have biology as a strong department. One thing to consider as well as pre-med is potential volunteer etc. activities at a hospital (not possible or as easily so with some univs)</p>
<p>I would still like more specific information. There may be good many good schools, but I am looking more to the top like 10-15 schools for biology.</p>

<p>Hydrowing, I don't think you grasp the concept. There will be virtually no difference in quality in the biology programs at, say, Johns Hopkins and Carnegie Mellon. What WILL differ, however, are the multiple other things important to college students- setting, location, weather, size, cost, etc. </p>
<p>You're doing it backwards. Figure out what you want in a college, and come up with a list that match what you're looking for. THEN start examining their biology programs.</p>
<p>First of all, I might be interested in majoring in Biochemistry, but not really sure yet though. How about if some of the top schools for biology, don't have the major your looking for?</p>
<p>I also want to go to schools with top biology programs, because they are more likely to have better professors, more funding into the biology program, etc.</p>
