What are the best books for writing, CR, and math? I have the blue book, grammatix, barrons 2400. My CR is very low (400-500), Writing is in 600's, and math in 700's.

Any suggestions as to what book I should use to improve each subject by at least 100 points? Thanks.

In the previous two weeks, I have completely started and finished RocketReview as well as the blue book (CollegeBoard SAT - just need to do seven more practice tests), and I got Cracking for SATs 2008 book by PrincetonReview on Friday from Amazon. I've begin reading it, and it is quite helpful. Listen to the following carefully. I like all three books. RocketReview is good for its vocabulary list it contains. RR has 323 vocabulary word list which I made flashcards from. It is very helpful, and you can definitely memorize those vocabulary words if you dedicate yourself to it. As for the CB book, I love it because it's made by the people who make the original SATs. As I found out after taking the first practice test, this book is a great help because of its EIGHT practice tests. After each practice test, you can calculate what score range you fall under. Hopefully as you take more and more practice tests from the CB book, your scores will enhance. As for the PR's 2008 book, I seem to like it. I've read majority of the CR section and some parts of the Math section. Also, PR's book also contains a list of vocabulary words which they call "Hot Parade List" or something. I don't remember quite well. Anyways, if you need huge improvement in your CR section, I suggest memorizing as many vocabulary words as you can between now and test day. (It is unusual for me to give advice to someone for CR when I, myself, have a superscore of 440 on the CR section. But all that was before I self-motivated myself to achieve a better SAT score on my last upcoming SAT on January 26th.) Remember: as long as you study diligently, your scores should improve, especially if you are scoring under 500. I know that from experience. The KEY to increasing your CR score is not by just knowing vocabulary though. You still need to have good comprehension skills so practice on that too! However, if you know most of the vocabulary, you can eliminate the incorrect answers quickly. Best of luck!
