Best Business Concentration?

For someone majoring in business and they are unsure about what concentration to take?

Between Accounting, Finance and Information Technology which degree would give the best combination of job opportunity's and exciting career path?

I'm thinking about majoring in business but am just not sure of what way to go?

I think Accounting is the least interesting but has the most jobs available.

Any suggestions on what way to go?

What accounting classes have you taken?

I in previous threads, I have seen that accounting does seem to provide the most job security. However, Finance also is a highly in demand concentration.

In the end, it depends where your strengths lie, and what you are interested in. If math is not your thing, then maybe marketing or business management is. They are all strong majors. If you have language skills and enjoy foreign cultures, maybe international business. If you are handier with IT, then go with IT.

If you enjoy what you are doing, and can bring passion to it, then you should be fine job. Also, your first year of business concentration will probably be spread out, taking courses in many topics, so you will have plenty of time to decide.

IT still has a good job prospect. Try as many programming courses as you can. It helps, even if you’re a business analyst.

Accounting – not too fancy but it sure puts food on the table and buys nice cars to drive. If you’re top notch, the future is very bright.

Finance – depends on your school and its connection to the job world and what you want to do. In general, acct. has more jobs than fin.

You didn’t ask in the original message, but I’d say stay away from management (what can you manage or consult with a 4 year management degree?) and some other general concentrations. I haven’t met a manager who majored in management but it’s one man view. I could be wrong.

I have seen plenty. The problem is most have been at Olive Garden.
