best business schools to consider

@Jsan81 yes BU comparable. I have a D18 who will be looking at business schools as well. This table from Poets & Quants is based on 2014 rankings but I like it as it shows USNews and BW rankings as well as their own. They have an updated version as well but it may have dropped the side by side ranking comparison. Honestly, I think anyting in the top 30 is very good and it gets down to where you can get it and best fit. For my D we like IU and Ohio State as we think they are very good and offer decent OOS merit scholarships but your budget and goals maybe different. Finally, if you have a 29 superscored now, focus on whichever subscores you can reasonably improve and I’m sure you can hit a 30 superscored which helps for IU. On the Ohio State forum I believe people are sharing they got the National Buckeye award w a 29 ACT. So you are close to both of these and seem to match their overall requirements. Good luck.

^ sorry here is the link - as I said they have a more updated ranking as well: http://poetsandquantsforundergrads.com/2014/07/01/2014-pq-ranking-of-the-best-undergraduate-business-programs/2/

I have friends at UMN (Carlson) and they love it. The school is in the city and it is relatively easy to get part time jobs, internships etc. You should at least consider it if you like an urban environment.

Do you think I have any chance at Michigan? I loved it so much and I know how hard it is. @my2caligirls Say I can get a 31 on ACT which I believe is entirely possible, does that put me in good range or no?

@jsan81 if you can get your ACT up to a minimum of 31 (32 ideal) I think they are worth applying to but will still be a reach with the 3.7, plus probably not direct admit to Ross. Spend some time on the Michigan forum and see what others are getting in with.

@my2caligirls thank you for all your help

Michigan is a very high reach oos especially for Ross.
Run the npc first.

what is npc? @MYOS1634

Net Price Calculator.
You must run it for every college you’re interested in, before you apply.
Then you bring each result (they’ll be very different depending on college) to your parents to determine whether you can afford to apply.
You can also use the NPC result to email Admissions and ask whether they typically add merit moeny or if merit is added in.

Oh ok, I understand now. Thanks, any schools you think i should check out? @MYOS1634

First run the NPC on the schools already mentioned here and bring the results to your parents. Then report back here so we can suggest more ideas.

^ I think that DePaul or Marquette would be great choices given your current stats. I would try really really hard to get your ACT up as your grades look fine. That will open up Kelley (direct admit) and Villanova and possibly BC and UVA.

@londondad Im working really hard to try and get my ACT up to a 31, I know I can accomplish it. Do you think that a a 31 will give me a solid chance at Villanova? I absolutely love that school! Also BC?
