Which community college in NYC or NY state is best for transferring into NYU? BMCC has a partnership agreement with NYU called the CCTOP but it only applies to transfers into one NYU school, called the NYU Steinhardt School of Education.

I don't want to major in Education. How does a theatre degree from Steinhardt compare to one from Tisch?

Also, do you have to have completed 4 semesters worth of community college credits before you can transfer into NYU? Could I technically do 2 semesters at a cc and then transfer into NYU?

If you want to apply to NYU through CCTOP you need to apply with at least 48 credits by the time of application. Essentially you’ll have to be at a cc for two years. You can apply to Steinhardt after only a year, however, keep in mind your hs stats will of greater importance.

I’d say Monroe Community College, it has great relations with top schools around the country. For example, University of Rochester, Cornell University, and Suny Geneseo all take a number of kids from MCC each year. It also has a Honors Institute which can be more appealing to top schools.

Not true your high school grades are NOT considered if you are in the CCTOP program to transfer into NYU Steinhardt.
