Best chemistry research school in NYC for 2014?

<p>I'm attending community college in the fall of 2012 and want to transfer after 2 years there to a school in NYC that has the best chemistry research opportunities because I will be majoring in chemical engineering and want to attend Harvard for my PhD right after I graduate. Which school in NYC would be the best in terms of chemistry research?</p>

<p>(I'm a resident of NYC so I want to keep the costs down.)</p>

<p>How about Stony Brook (if you want to keep cost down)? Do some searching about SBU’s Chemistry department being ranked 9th in the country for some spending or something (I’m totally clueless but it might help)</p>
