Best Christian college for pre-med?

I’ll be applying to colleges next year and I’m trying to narrow down my list of colleges to apply to. I really want to go to a top med school like Yale or Duke, so I would prefer to go to a college that would give me a chance of going there. I’ve been looking into universities like ORU, Taylor, Samford, Lee, and I can’t decide which would be the best for pre-med. I’ve heard that Lee has 100% acceptance rate to med school, but I know some people who go there and that is a pretty wild Christian school, not sure that I would want to go there. Which Christian universities should I consider?

I also would prefer a college in the south or new England.

If south includes TX, you could consider Baylor.

Otherwise, I’d check to see which med schools graduates are getting into rather than just looking at rates. In some states it’s easier to get into a state med school than others and some might be considering DO or Caribbean schools, not just MD schools. Then too, like many colleges, are they limiting who applies to better their odds? If so, that won’t help you out much if you end up being less than tippy top. You wouldn’t be supported with an application - but the college will maintain their impressive rates!

Christian college-wise, my oldest went to - and enjoyed - Covenant in GA. I know they talked about graduates getting into med schools, but I’m not sure which med schools or how many graduates as that son wasn’t heading that direction.

My pre-med son chose the University of Rochester. It’s a secular school, but he’s doing great there with a mix of Christian and non-Christian friends. It’s in the north though, so with that and it being secular it’s probably not of interest to you.

Thanks

Check out Furman in SC.

Just to clarify, Furman is secular having cut all ties to the Baptist Church in 1992. It is a fine choice for pre-med though and you will find a large number of Christian students there.

Check out Mercer University in Georgia. Like Furman, it has officially severed ties with the Baptists; however, its website states that it “remains committed to an educational environment that embraces the historic Baptist principles of intellectual and religious freedom, while affirming values that arise from a Judeo-Christian understanding of the world.”

I have a cousin who went to med school from Mercer, and he has a very high opinion of it.

Also, I am dubious of the academic strength of Lee University.
