best civil/human rights programs (among other things)

hello, all. i’m currently a second-year going into his spring semester. i want to go to law school for civil/human rights, perhaps concentrating in something such as gender/sexuality law.

my question: what are the best civil/human rights programs? obviously, there are the givens: yale, nyu, columbia, etc., but what are strong programs with realistic expectations for admission? the only law school i could really find is american university’s.

furthermore, i’m a low-income (pell grant recipient), first-generation (i’ll be the first person on both of my mother and father’s sides of the family to both graduate college and go on to receive an advanced degree), and LGBT+ student, so are there any law schools that not necessarily cater to those identities but rather advertise a necessity for them?

thank you!

Admissions is almost all about GPA+LSAT. All but HYS offer merit aid for great numbers.

As an aside, law school curriculum is rather generic. Any claimed speciality is nothing more than a few courses in that area, which many law schools offer anyway. OTOH, some do offer clinics in speciality areas where you can get some hands-on work. For example,
