Best classics?

<p>I've got as much love for P&P as everyone else, but Austen's other stuff is great, too - Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion especially. If she likes that, Jane Eyre would probably be good too.</p>

<p>It really depends what she likes. 1984 is pretty much a must-read whether or not you're political, and the same could be said for Brave New World...Catch 22 is fantastic as well. Alexander Dumas's stuff is generally entertaining, Count of Monte Cristo moreso than Three Musketeers. I like Ayn Rand but that's admittedly not for everyone, so...</p>

<p>Is 1984 hard to read? Is it full-on political or is there something else?</p>

<p>1984's a very easy and interesting read. It's definitely worth checking out--dystopia stories are pretty awesome.</p>

<p>Has anyone said Slaughterhouse-Five? Must-read.</p>
