Best College for Communications and Music

FYI, Northwestern is a 100% “meets need” school, meaning that whatever they determine your contribution should be using their own methodology, they would then package the rest.

USC Annenberg has one of the best Broadcast Journalism programs you will find. There set up for news broadcasting is phenomenal. In reply to comment on Penn Annenberg, that was an option, but felt that it was geared more toward the “philosophy” of journalism and upper school and graduate work. You cannot apply to that school as a freshman.

Artspeak, one other comment regarding vocals. You will most likely need an audition tape. Generally the school will provide you with the song and the guidelines, so they are comparing “apples to apples.” Past experience in this area are good, but the audition is what they really look at. Sometimes you will get a request for an interview as well. As for all the other EC’s they are good, but GPA and SAT’s are first thing they will look at. For Annenberg a separate supplemental application is required. I do know that Annenberg is very competitive. Last year 23 kids were accepted into the Broadcast Journalism program.

Clark University in Worcester MA is highly regarded and has great music and communications.

BU is a good choice.

How about Sarah Lawrence?
