Best College Ranking

Just one comment.
I guess it is just a matter of preference picking either U. of Maine or Stanford, even though the latter is a better school.
One might prefer UM because the tuition is cheaper, likes east coast, likes cold weather, etc.
It is at least not unreasonable to pick UM over Stanford.

"Yeah, there are probably THOUSANDS of people who choose a community college over Stanford. In fact, the only reason I am at Stanford is because my local community college didn't accept me. I also got rejected by the Unversity of Maine, so alas, I could not attend the clearly superior school."

You too? I think I filled my name or address out wrong or something on the entrance form and they couldn't find me on the student's list. So now I have to go to Duke. :(

RTK-
You realize, of course, that many of us read other threads on CC. It seems like you spend much of your time criticizing others on lots of threads. Perhaps you spend so much time slamming other posters that you don't recall what you say. As an example, you seem to enjoy telling Caltech students that they don't bathe, you made sarcastic comments about Berkeley faculty and Caltech gals, that you "didn't want" to ridicule the school (Berkeley) but..... , and admitted in one post (#20 in the "Berkeley- is that good "thread) that your previous post sounded pretty nasty. (Aha, finally some insight). You have personally attacked Alexandre, Ubermensch, Rooster and Shyboy, to name a few - people who have posted useful comments on CC. Oh, and I see you apologized for a grammatical error-- so now I understand your being so sensitive about this issue. For someone who is spending soooooo much time here arguing against what you see as personal attacks.... can't you look in the mirror?? I guess some people cannot see past the nose on their own face. I politely asked you to move on, but you cannot seem to do so. Please take your hostility elsewhere. I am sure I am not the only one weary of this. This feedback to you is falling on deaf ears. I will waste no further time on this. So feel free, as you no doubt will, to say whatever you feel you need to -- get it off your chest. I hope it makes you feel better. Since you choose to attack posters whose opinions I respect, I will take your attacks as a compliment. By the way, do you also set fire to small animals ???

jym626,

So, after clicking my handle to probe my previous posts, can you tell me where did I bash, for example, Berkeley's faculty? Please don't post bs and try be more rational. Now despite your previous claim, you launch your Ad hominem attacks to me personally, great !!!

Now look in this way, have I offended any poster here regarding Caltech girls, Berkeley and etc? Particularly, ask Alexandre, rooster, ubermensch, shyboy, California_Ivy (he's from Berkeley in case you don't know) or anyone here if I have offended them personally! Furthermore, did I use your profile to attack you? No, I didn't land in any Ad Hominem attack. On the other hand YOU criticize the PERSON instead of his/her arguments? Don't you notice the difference?

And please, without any evidence, do not post any slanderous remark to discredit my profile. Alexander, Rooster, Shyboy, if you guys happen to read this thread, can you tell us whether I have offended you guys personally as what jym626 said? thx

jym626,

Hmmm...I have never seen rtkysg launching the kind of attack you described. I saw his posts on the Berkeley board and they seemed pretty okay to me. I do dislike people picking on my English when I am not a native speaker...I am a very sensitive guy. :)
