Best colleges to play or watch men's soccer?

Very good team and fun crowd at D3 Macalester

UNC is and has been very consistent with women's soccer...national champions for 10+ years since 1980 or so...and the campus and community get very involved in these games.

Also, the men have been doing excellently this year and I actually teach 2 of the players on the team. They are really down to earth and get a lot of support as well.

Overall for soccer, UNC has been a draw for decades and have produced a lot of great soccer players and have excellent recruitment!

Plus, UNC has other sports that generate loads and loads of school spirit!

Go Heels!

ophiolite, yes but it is so hard to get into the school out-of-state.

Actually, a good chunk of the students that do get in are recruited athletes. Yes, its very hard to get in as an undergraduate oos student, but if you are recruited you still need to be smart but can get in much easier than the regular applicant pool.

To be recruited to play soccer at UNC, you have to be incredibly good. Even my kid isn't that good. :)

If he was, I think UNC would be his first choice.

S is a freshman at Duke, going to lots of soccer games, men's and women's. Duke has good crowds at their games, partly because they have free food for the students, and other incentives. But the teams are also great, and fun to watch. Saw Duke beat N.C. State on the Friday of Parents' Weekend, and had a terrific time with S--the crowd was large, very loud & spirited, and the soccer was really excellent!

Agrre Duke has great tradition although upset by Creighton in NCAA's this year. Soccer facility holds about 70000 seats. In New England, Holy Cross has just built a new 2000 seat stadium and competes in Div. 1 Patriot League and schedules many Ivies. Great school spirit at both Duke and Holy Cross.

Agree with par72. D plays D-1 soccer at Holy Cross and loves it. New coach just completed her second season. This year's record not so good but she is building her team with her recruits. Great school spirit, attendance at games is good and the team itself is like a family. The girls love eachother and spend lots of non-soccer time together. The best part is my D states that if she were not playing the sport that she has played since kindergarten, she would still love Holy Cross. She hated the color purple before attending HC but now says she loves it as Crusaders are said to bleed purple. She is one content freshman.
