I am going to be a junior in my undergraduate studies, working towards a B.B.A. in Marketing and Finance. I attend a small state school that is respectable and affordable and I am very focused in my work. I want to prepare myself for an entry position in the finance world, in lower fairfield county and/or NYC/Wall Street. I have noticed some very enticing "crash courses" in I-banking from The Analyst Exchange and Ibankingtraining.com . Because I do not attend a "prestigious" university I know I will need to be more qualified in other areas and leveraging my degree with extra curricular and career oriented training programs will be a necessity. Does anyone here have any knowledge about these programs and their value?

They will not be helpful in terms of impressing employers, but you could use that knowledge in interviews or while networking. However, you don’t really need to pay thousands to learn this stuff at one of those programs. You don’t need to know modeling either before you get the job.

But you need to know that investment banking has nothing to do with investment or banking. Buy like a vault guide to learn more about it how ibanks make money. You should also know the basics of valuation, capm , wacc and multiples for interviews. Just buy a text book or so for that.
