Best double major combo with a science?

Hi guys

So I’ve been trying to settle down on what I want to do in the future and since I can’t settle with one, I’ve decided to pursue a double major. However the problem is I have no idea what particular majors I would pick.

I know I want to do something in science but what are some good pairs? I also love business as well as politics if that would be any help on narrowing something down.

I have some interest in biochem, biotech, as well as psychology.

What would work well together after taking into consideration what I could do with the majors post-grad? And I mean money-wise, fun-wise, as well as lifestyle-wise.

I think we need more information. What grade are you just about to complete? What do you like to do? Do you like interacting with people a lot, or would you rather minimize the amount that you need to deal with people? What are your grades like? What part of the country do you live in? Do you have hobbies?

I think that a having a Economics / STEM double degree would serve you well.

Economics goes well with math or statistics. Actually, any social studies goes well with statistics, though it is generally not necessary to do both as a full major.

Biological sciences are not great for major specific job prospects, so try not to choose them for that reason. It is fine to choose them out of interest as long as you are aware that job prospects may be limited.

This is a bad idea. A double major is something that you should do (1) if two fields call strongly to you and you want to pursue them both in depth, or (2) if two fields complement each other well, and you went to use them in combination. It is not something that you should consider in order to keep your options open.

Based on your other posts you are currently in a junior in high school. I wouldn’t worry about doing a double major at this point. Once you matriculate at a college you can explore some different areas to see what you really like. It’s way too premature to focus on a double major if you “have no idea what particular majors I would pick.”

@DadTwoGirls 11th grade. I love to interact with people to a certain extent along with some situational basis. Currently have all Bs and As and one C. I’m in California. Basketball, the gym, fashion(although all three of these are more so articulated as a lifestyle in my case but they can be called a hobby), and a lot of entrepreneurial work. I’ve also started a couple of clubs.

@renaissancedad I apologize if it came off that way. I do want to pursue science and business in depth due to the two subjects involvement in my life. Science has always been my best subject and I personally have made plenty of business ventures.

Hey! I’m currently at USciences in Philadelphia. My school is well known for its pharmacy and other health profession programs, but also its for high dropout rate. To that extent, a science major is a really big investment and you’re going to have to devote a lot of your time to subjects like Orgo, Biochem, Physics, etc. Since you’re a junior in high school, spend some time thinking about whether or not you really want to double major in science and business.

Once you get to college, I’d suggest sticking with one major and taking courses related to another major. See if you like it and want to take on another major.

Hopefully this helped and best of luck!
