I will be taking the SAT soon and again next year for better scores. My question is what is the best kind of examples to use on the essay part of the test.

Should I use examples from famous Novels, Regular Books, School books, or magazines.

All Responses are appreciated. Thanks.

You can make up examples. The sky is the limit.

If you have taken the SAT, Which examples did you use to transfer across your point?

I want to make sure I use credible sources.

Thanks.

I haven’t taken an actual one in High School yet, but I’ve numerous essays posted on here that have gotten them scores of 12. The people who post these essays say that they’ve made up the examples or whatnot.

The only thing that would limit you here would be your level of writing. The most effective example is only effective if you know how to write it well; asking what to use before seeing the prompt is pointless.

People have based their essays off of real life experiences, made up experiences, quotes, books, short stories, fabricated fiction. People have focused their essay entirely on a story they’ve read/wrote/are pretending they read/wrote recently. Your only limit, as I’ve said, is how well you can use the examples you make up.

There is no one perfect example guaranteed to get a high score. You get a high score by writing well. A quote could work, or a short story could work, or etc.

This is me speaking in place of the dozens of people who have scored high on the essay. Believe me or not, it’s your choice.

@Aj39vn23cf2 :where are the essays that you said got a score of 12???
