Montana

Young

Marino

Hasselback

Favre

Hasselbeck lol.

i like him though. he played good in the superbowl, even if the refs screwed him.

he might be in the top 3 currently playing.

Hasselbeck the #4 quarterback of ALL TIME???????

That is just a litttllle bit off...

Of the current QBs, none qualifies for top 10 honors (too many awesome QBs to limit it to just 5). However, the only QB that is currently active that I think has a shot at making the top 5 list is Tom Brady. He is surrounded by a solid defense and decent offense, but he is the reason they win. The boy has heart and a never-die attitude. Even when he was at Michigan he was known as the comeback kid. In his two years at Michigan, Brady was 6-0 in games where we trailed by 6 or fewer points with less than 2 minutes left to play. I think he is 8-0 in the NFL when his team is trailing by 6 or fewer points with 2 minutes left in the game. Let us face it, when the chips are down, you want Brady on your side. His overall win rate is 0.750, #1 among QBs with more than 100 starts and oen cannot ignore the fact that he has led the Pats to 3 Superbowls and was twice named SB MVP. And to top it off, the guy is well-spoken, modest and takes responsibility for losses. When was the last time Manning accepted responsibility for a loss. He always seems to blame the line or the WR for a loss.

My top 10 for now are:

1 Montana

2 Marino

3 Bradshaw

4 Favre

5 Unitas

6 Elway

7 Young

8 Griese (Bob)

9 Namath

But at his current rate, Brady will make the top 10 list. If his next 7 years are the same as his first 7 years with the Pats, he will be the unquestioned #1 QB of all time.

1: Montana

that much is clear. I would put Bradshaw at #2 and Marino at #3. #4 would go to Unitas, #5 to Elway, #6 to Young, #7 to Farve. #8 to Namath.

9 and #10.... I dunno.

Namath was historically a very important quarterback because he established the legitimacy of the AFL in competing with the NFL with his guarantee during Super Bowl III. But I don't really think of him as one of the best passers ever. In my eyes he was more of a media darling than a great QB.
