<p>This may or may not have been true in the past. However, with its acceptance rate so low (about 26% for the class of 2011) Pitzer has apparently been quite picky about those it admits. Someone who has a legitimate shot at Pomona or Swarthmore may not be what Pitzer is looking for. For example, suppose you score 2350 on the SAT. How much is that going to count for you at a school like Pitzer where the SAT is optional?</p>
