LACs with Good Political Science Programs?

I am looking for a Liberal Arts College with a strong Political Science program, preferably on the East Coast or Midwest. UW GPA is 3.5, ACT composite 28 (first time taking it, hoping to raise it a few points), several extracurriculars (including political work) and a few leadership roles. I have no idea where to start looking! Thanks :x

That could help!

Dickinson, Hobart & William Smith, maybe Trinity (CT).

Some ideas: Dickinson, Clark, Brandeis, Beloit, Earlham, Hobart & William Smith

Maybe Denison in Ohio, with the Lugar Program, which has both a US and international track – 3.5 and a 28 is a match (current ACT middle 50% is 28-32, so a 28 is on the lower end), admissions could go either way. Dickinson would be a match as well, again, could go either way. St Lawrence in up (up) state NY has a semester in DC program.

I thought of Dickinson, Holy Cross, and Denison. Financial aid probably most likely at Denison. Maybe Gettysburg and Franklin and Marshall too. Good luck!

Smith College! Free to apply to and tests optional!

Look at each school’s Political science departments’ websites–faculty lists and interests, but also “news” that they may post on events, scholarships, etc. That will give you the best view to compare schools. Some departments may be very heavy on a particular focus–you will see departments with half the people working on Latin America or Asia, for example. You will want to stay away from those schools unless that is your interest. Also see if the departments push interdisciplinary links with other departments, like Economics or Philosophy or such.

@greersprofiles, if you’re a female, Smith may be of interest. It’s a reach, but you never know.
