You’re welcome

Meh, that doesn’t seen like what I had in mind. Also I can’t stand laptops smaller than 14"

“Personally, I have a Macbook Pro (I’ve had it since junior year of high school) and I love it. I would not give it up for a Windows computer any day.”
I’m in the same position. I also have a Windows desktop that I love as well but I like my MacBook just as much.

As a comm major you need to ask yourself if you will be doing video editing. If so does the school you will be going to use Windows or Mac (Adobe or Final Cut)?

Once you are into a school and deposit paid email the department you will be majoring (intended) under and ask what they say. Usually it doesn’t matter but for some it might. If you know students there already ask them what they see in use.

As for budget, I could get the same specs in a windows laptop for 25% - 50% less then my Mac. It all depends on budget, preference, and major reqs.

I don’t see how a Mac or PC or even Linux would be required over the others?

Some majors use special software that may only be available for certain operating systems. ie Final Cut Pro for film/tv/broadcasting majors.

Might not be required so much as recommended, but thats just my 2c as a intended broadcast major.
