Best major for biotech industry?

I really want to get into the biotech industry after I graduate and was wondering if bio is a good major for this? I’ve been hearing that bio isn’t a good major to do, but I don’t understand why. And I plan to go straight into a biotechnology masters program right after undergrad. PhD is up in the air I don’t know yet. But yeah is bio undergrad to biotech masters a good/bad choice and why? Thank you!

I’m also considering applied mah-biology that they have at my school as my 2nd choice instead of bio

Probably Chemical engineering. You don’t want biology/chemistry/biochemistry or any of the related sciences as all they set you up for is dead end low paying bench lab jobs many of which are now via awful contract agencies.
