Best major for law school

Hi I'm currently a senior in high school planning on going to law. I will be attending UCSD in the falll. I am planning on majoring in Econ or History. Which of the following majors would be the most beneficial for getting me in and through law school?

Nobody will care. Pick whichever one you like better.

History sucks do Econ.

Why does History suck?

it is not a matter of history sucking, it is a popular major. Your job will be to differentiate yourself from all of the other history majors

“it is not a matter of history sucking, it is a popular major. Your job will be to differentiate yourself from all of the other history majors”

By having a high GPA and high LSAT.

Tyler- It’s so boring. It is far different from the History that you were exposed to in high school. The material can be hyperspecialized, causing you to question its importance. Thus, it is sort of hard to muster the motivation to read 300 pages about materialism in pre-revolutionary France.

You also cannot obtain a well paying job after graduation if you don’t end up going to law school. Maybe you decide in the eleventh hour that law school isn’t for you, and you instead want to work a little. Most jobs that you can get with a BA in history do not pay very well, assuming you aren’t going to Princeton or something.

On the other hand, however, I find history to be very easy. You won’t need to take calculus or differential equations like you would with economics. I also found that the language requirements require you to take easy beginner and intermediate language classes, allowing you to build a solid GPA.
