Well first of I'm Chris cook. Im a highschool senior and I want your advice on what I should major in. I want to double major in something. My interests include giving speeches having debates learning about different cultures chess which includes logic. I like to read and write. Researching answers to my narrow questions is one of my favorites. I struggle at and don't like math. I'm still trying to pass algebra. I don't mind the hard sciences like biology chemistry or physics but I also don't prefer them. I'm taking mostly social science courses at my highschool for enjoyment. I'm planning on becoming a lawyer so bear that in mind when helping me. I don't want to be the student who keeps changing his major. So if you guys could give me suggestions I'd appreciate that.

So… just first off, I hope you aren’t offended, but for someone who likes to write, your writing needs work. You don’t seem to have much understanding of punctuation or capitalization. So work on that… that is a really important skill for an attorney.

Sounds like you are headed for some kind of humanities major. You can major in almost anything and go to law school, there isn’t really a "pre-law’ major. Lots of pre-law students major in Political Science or History.

It doesn’t matter if you change your major your first year and half most of the time (some majors like physics or engineering it could slow you down, but not in most). You could get a copy of the Book of Majors (available from the CollegeBoard, your library or guidance counselor may have it). Go through with a pack of post-its to read about different majors and the jobs that are possible. Make a list. If you have a few in mind, try to pick a college that offers those majors. Then take 1-2 classes in your top few choices in your first 3 semesters to try them out. Visit the college career office for more info. Maybe see if you can get some internship experience in one. Then you will feel more qualified to make a final major choice.

Also… you aren’t very “anon” if you give your name in your post… most posters try to stay anonymous out here.

Major in philosophy. Do a google “why major in philosophy?”

In addition to what everyone else said, maybe consider English as well. Also, I’d say to maybe consider taking a couple of theatre/acting/speech classes… acting abilities do come in handy, and you obviously need great verbal communication abilities.
